Mariana González Bracho (State of Mexico, Mexico; August 31, 1996), under the artistic name MLHornidge, is a lawyer, cultural disseminator and writer.
In her professional life, she devotes herself to Copyright, a branch of Law that works to protect and recognize human creations (creative works), such as music and literature.
In 2019, she created Escribiembre, a creative writing challenge without judgment. The challenge aims to encourage writers to explore new literary genres, learn rarely used words in Spanish to expand their vocabulary, and establish a writing habit after the challenge. Each year, new lists and themes are presented to motivate and sensitize participants from Spanish-speaking backgrounds to become curious about their art. There is an English writing challenge, Writevember, that shares the same goal of uniting those who use English as a native language or as a second language.
During the course of 2022, she begins her project Hojeadas Literarias, a blog of essays-reviews in which she narrates the content of said books and deepens the criticism about society in general. Among the topics that are commonly discussed are feminism, spirituality, legality, and society (english included). The same year, she joined Ella Me Inspira, a project on Instagram that aims to disseminate female voices from history and our current events. In this project, she has given two presentations: ¿Cómo comenzar a escribir? (How to start writing?) (2022) and Ella es POESÍA (She is POETRY) (2023).
It is in 2023 that she releases Siemprevivas, a poetic anthology which rescues Rosario Castellanos's voice. Over 40 Spanish-language writers are featured in the anthology, who chose a woman writer from history to be honored. All proceeds of this anthology will be donated to AIDA ONG, a Spanish non-governmental organization that helps developing countries.
Some of her literary influences include: Rosario Castellanos, Liliana Blum, Emily Dickinson, and Virginia Woolf.
Aside from teaching private writing and poetry workshops, she is working on two collections of poetry, the next phase of her Escribiembre/Writevember writing challenges and its informative and creative blog.
